About the Project
The Canada-Russia Northern Development Partnership Program (NORDEP) is a 4 year program funded by the Canadian International Development Agency with counterpart funding from the Russian partners and managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.
The previous iteration of the site was housed externally, and built upon a foreign content management system and the need to host the site internally as well as to take back the responsibility of creating and of editing content arose within the AUCC. To accommodate this, a series of English templates were created to match the previous look and feel of the site and to also fix the previously broken functionality, while using the various features of WordPress as a CMS. The templates were then were duplicated and converted into the Russian language.
To increase the usability of the site, a variety of tools were used such as NextGen Gallery for the photo albums, cformsII for the contact forms, and jQuery to create a tabbed style layout within each projects information page.
