After completing a three-year graphic design program in May of 2000, I moved to Ottawa, Ontario, working as a freelance graphic designer. The next 9 years were spent evolving in the print publication, marketing, advertising and web design industry, while spending time whenever possible learning and keeping up-to-date on the ever-evolving standards in the web development industry.
Shortly after being introduced to WordPress I was immediately hooked. Drawn to its ease of use and potential in customization, I began spending as much time as possible looking at free themes, studying and changing their code, testing out various plugins and learning as much about the platforms features as I could.
To this day I continue to study advancements of WordPress and learn from the tremendous community, as well as keep myself up to date on evolving coding standards such as HTML5 and CSS3 all while aiding Web Services at Carleton University push the envelope with what can achieved with open source platforms.
